Intimate Conversation with Christine Young-Robinson
Christine Young-Robinson is the author of two novels: We Didn’t See It Coming and Do What You Gotta Do. Her short story: Miss Amy’s Last Ride, featured in the anthology: Proverbs for the People. She is presently working on her third novel.
A wife, mother, and grandmother, Christine resides in South Carolina. She is the co-chairperson of the Eleuthera Book Club.
BPM: Who or what motivated you?
First and foremost, God. I’m blessed with great parents, family and friends. I got to where I am by having faith and trusting in God.
BPM: Who does your body of literary work speak to? Do you consider authors as role models?
My work speaks to lovers of stories about family suspense. I personally don’t consider myself a role model but I’m grateful if someone can draw from the goodness in me.
BPM: Where do your book ideas come from? Are your books plot-driven or character-driven?
My ideas come from my imagination, dreams, and things I observe in my surroundings. My books are plot driven but at times, it can be a mixture of both. I enjoyed writing the craziness of my characters and great storyline.
BPM: Could you tell us something about your most recent books?

BPM: Give us some insight into your main characters or speakers.
In my upcoming novel, Do What You Gotta Do, Aniyah Sanchez is a wild, sexy, and seductive woman. She yearns for a wealthy man so that she can live a luxurious lifestyle. Jarvis Powell, Jr., a kind-hearted man becomes Aniyah’s target but his father, Jarvis Powell, Sr., a banker is suspicious of her and he’ll do everything in his power to protect his family legacy.
BPM: How does your book relate to your present situation or journey?
The title of the book is sentimental to me. Do What You Gotta Do are the words of my deceased brother’s voicemail. I can still hear his voice saying these words.
BPM: Did you learn anything personal from writing your book?
I learned that people do crazy things to suit their own needs. My goal is to give the reader a novel to enjoy and escape from their busy lives.
BPM: What projects are you working on at the present?
I am working on another novel, Now I See.
