Author Sage

Sage was born and raised in Maryland. She has been married to her best friend, for over ten years and they have two amazing sons. She is also an Autism advocate and a parent of an autistic child, which inspired her to write a non-fiction book on raising a child on the Autism spectrum, The Optimistic Autistic: Our Testimony.

Sage has vowed to produce books that encourage the reader to deliberately read; not just for entertainment but to read with the intention of solving the mystery along with the Detective.

Her belief that, “if you don’t see the books you’re searching for write them” has inspired her to write with a purpose and a passion.

BPM:  Could you tell us something about your new book?  Is this book available on Nook and Kindle?
Do you recall the books you read as a child where you could choose your own adventure? The immense power that you felt when you decided the ending for characters that proliferated from the mind of someone else; the feeling was unreal.

Well, now you have another chance.  I present, “His Redemption” a supernatural thriller that will have you on the edge of your seats and yearning for more. This book promises to give you the heart pounding roller-coaster ride that you’ve been searching for.

Only, you control how the book will end!

“His Redemption”, is my first Supernatural/Spiritual Thriller but definitely not her last. Once you meet the Summerville family, you will be dying to know more about them.

Avery is a preacher at a long-standing, 200 year old church. His only goal is to grow the church membership, serve his members and please his wife.  A displeased wife leads to painful repercussions for Avery. His lovely wife Gretchen is the dedicated and doting mother of the church, but there is something sinister lurking beneath her finely shined veneer.

Gretchen is not who she appears to be in front of the church and someone who knows her secret is threatening to expose it to the entire congregation.

As bodies begin to pile up, Detective Reginald Benston, a decorated 20-year veteran of the force, decides to take charge. He has seen many murders and solved numerous cases, but nothing has prepared him for this particular case.

Detective Benston is racing against time as he tries to solve the murders before another victim washes ashore.

But…what if it were all an illusion? You decide.

In the middle of the book the reader is given the option to skip beyond the Epilogue and join the characters of the book on a new adventure or continue reading the book until the explosive ending.

BPM:  Give us some insight into your main characters or speakers. What makes each one so special?
Avery is the main character in the book. He finds himself trapped inside a physical and spiritual prison.  Gretchen is the first lady of the church and also Avery’s wife. She is his backbone and the reason why he continues to push past his limitations to deliver the word to his congregation. Gretchen is also hiding something deadly.

BPM:  What inspired you to sit down and actually start writing these books?
I usually write mystery books but the idea for a science fiction novel popped into my mind one day and I couldn’t shake it loose until I had the actual novel written.

BPM:  Where do your book ideas come from? Are your books plot-driven or character-driven?
My books are generally plot-driven. I glean ideas from real life experiences and what I imagine; when the two collide we have a magical recipe. This book was born from a “what if” type of situation. I wondered what would happen if readers were given the opportunity to choose which ending they preferred.

BPM:  Is writing easy for you? Do you feel lonely being a writer?
Writing is my passion. I feel alive when I am writing and imagining plots and sticky situations for my characters. When my heart is racing and I can’t stop typing, I know that I am on the right track.

BPM:  What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
It was fun writing a “choose your own adventure” book for adults. Writing two completely different endings for this book was the most enjoyable experience.

BPM:  How long does it take to complete one of your books?
It generally takes 6-9 months to complete my books then they go through an editing and typesetting process.

BPM:  Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer?
If so, what are they? Believe, imagine and explore; inspiration for writing is all around you. All you need is the inspiration and motivation to begin.

BPM:  How do you feel when someone disagrees with something you have written?
I welcome the opinions of others as long as it’s constructive I feel like we are all entitled to sharing our thoughts.

BPM:  Are there under-represented groups or ideas featured in your book?
If so, discuss them. Black writers in the mystery, psychological thriller and science fiction genres are grossly under-represented. My goal is to change this. I established RCS Publishing to help writers polish and publish their books.

BPM:  How does your book relate to your present situation, education, spiritual practice or journey?
This book was a culmination of a spiritual and educational journey. It is a book written for the sci/fi enthusiast but the underlying current running throughout this book is, faith.

BPM:   Did you learn anything personal from writing your book?
This book really allowed me to stretch beyond my personal limitations as a writer. His Redemption is different than any other book that I’ve written because it gives the reader the opportunity to choose his or her own ending.

BPM:   What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
My goals were to create something unlike anything I’ve read before. In my opinion I succeeded. I would love to hear from the readers to get their opinion.

BPM:  What does literary success look like to you?
Literary success to me is having my book in as many hands as possible. There’s something about being lost inside of a good book. It’s a journey that I would like to share with the world. Literary success to me is my ability to share my writing with the world.

BPM:  Do you set out to educate or inspire, entertain or illuminate a particular subject?
I set out to entertain my readers. I want readers to be entertained and while they’re being entertained, they’re learning something. I conduct a great amount of research for the developing of each book to ensure that readers learn something they never knew. I love to inspire readers to continue reading.

BPM:  Do you have any advice for people seeking to publish a book?
Believe in what you are writing. As long as you believe in your writing and the purpose for what you do, there is nothing that can stop you. You must take the first step though. If you want to write a book, start writing. Don’t put it off any longer. If you need assistance with writing or publishing your book please contact me at rcscomputerpros@gmail.com

BPM:  What should readers DO after reading this book?
Once readers have put down Assumptions Abound, make your next purchase of Seeking Truth and Sweet Revenge. I tell you to purchase them both, because you will not want to wait for the book to ship to find out what happens next.  The book series is so enthralling that you will not want to miss a beat.

BPM:  What are your career goals as a writer? Have you accomplished most of them?
My career goals as a writer are to assist others with living out their dreams of writing a book. I have written and published over 10 books and I don’t plan on stopping. I want to show others that there is a way to get their thoughts, words or message out there and I am willing to help them. I have accomplished many of the goals that I have set regarding my writing, but there is so much more work left to be done. I plan to turn my mystery trilogy series into a mini-series. I would love to see Raven on the big screen.

BPM:   What projects are you working on at the present?
BAN Radio in conjunction with RCS Publishing will be debuting our first writing contests entitled, the Twisted Truth Contest. We are looking forward to awarding two lucky winners with their first book publishing and marketing contract.
